The University of Iowa’s enrollment is expected to be among the largest in history, but officials say it won’t set a record. Enrollment projections from the University of Northern Iowa are not available. Last fall over 12-thousand students were enrolled at U-N-I.

ATLANTIC, Iowa (AP) – Authorities in western Iowa say a woman faces felony charges after lying to people for months that her 5-year-old daughter has terminal cancer.

Slauson was arrested Thursday night on a charge of felony child endangerment. A felony drug distribution charge was added later on suspicion that she gave the child cannabis oil. Court records do not list an attorney.
Officials say Slauson lied to the community for months about the girl’s health. At some point, a bank account was set up in support of the family.
The Associated Press is not naming the girl because she may be the victim of a crime.
