New School Principal To Oversee Clark and Franklin Schools

(Le Mars) — In just two weeks from today, (Thursday) school will resume, and
students attending either Franklin or Clark Elementary schools will see a new face
sitting behind the principal’s desk. Pat Kruger will assume the duties that were
vacated by Floyd Athey. Kruger is originally from Minnesota and is familiar with
the area since she obtained her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern College in
Orange City. Her most recent position was that of Associate Principal in Colorado.
She says the position of being principal was one reason why she was attracted to Le
Mars.

The new elementary school principal says knowing a little about the town of Le Mars
also prompted her to pursue the position.

Kruger says the Le Mars Community School District compares favorably with her
former school in Colorado.

Kruger has met with some of the members of the school board last Monday evening,
and she has visited with many of the faculty and staff from both schools. She says
her goal is to have open communication with the students, teachers, and parents.
Kruger says it is essential to meet each individual’s educational needs, while
maintaining the school as a focal point for the entire community.

The new Clark and Franklin school principal explains both her challenges and goals,
not only for herself, but for the Le Mars Community School District.
