(Le Mars) — As part of the follow up investigation of a personal injury accident
on Highway 3 east of Le Mars on Friday night, October 14th. The driver of the
2005 Chevrolet Silverado pick up truck has been identified as 19 year old Evan
Niebuhr of Le Mars, Iowa whom was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux
City and later succumbed to life-threatening injuries. The driver of the
Freightliner semi truck is 44 year old Jeffrey Knudson of Akron, Iowa and was
uninjured. The investigation is ongoing by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, and the Le Mars Police Department.
