(Le Mars) — The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board will decide today
whether to grant Wells Enterprises of Le Mars a state tax incentive amounting to
$3 million dollars. Wells Enterprises is planning to make an expansion to its
South Ice Cream Plant amounting to $40 million dollars and it would include two
additional production lines, and it would add 81 more jobs. You may recall Wells
had received the support of the Le Mars City Council earlier in the month. Wells
Enterprises Communications Manager, Leslie Bartholomew explains the expansion
plans.
Bartholomew says the community will see the new construction this coming spring.
