Claire Allen, 89, of rural Akron, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Akron Care Center in Akron. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Adaville United Methodist Church, rural Merrill, Iowa. Reverend Merrill Muller will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Merrill with military honors provided by the Heeren-McHale-Wilkens American Legion Post 724 of Brunsville. Visitation with the family present will be after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all at Rexwinkel-Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.
