Remsen St. Mary’s State Tournament Run Comes To An End

(Des Moines) — The Remsen St. Mary’s Hawks entered the Iowa Boys High School State Basketball Tournament with an undefeated record.  The Hawks were able to get by New London in the first round of the tournament.  However, during the semi-final round, the Hawks lost to Grandview Christian.  Remsen St. Mary’s then played North Linn in the consolation round.  Unfortunately, the Hawks again came up short and settled for a 4th place finish.  Remsen St. Mary’s cheerleaders and fans were awarded the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s “Sportsmanship” Award.   KLEM radio would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Coach Scott Ruden and the entire Remsen St. Mary’s Hawks basketball team for a great and memorable season.  Good job Hawks!
