Highway 75 Accident

(Merrill) — Traffic on northbound Highway 75 was backed up for miles as emergency crews were trying to clear an accident that had occurred on the south side of Merrill. Two vehicles had collided causing a mini van to lose
control and go into the median and had flipped on its side. The second vehicle was a passenger car that had sustained major front-end damage as a result of the accident. The Merrill and the Hinton Fire and Rescue Departments, along with the Le Mars Ambulance, Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Highway
Patrol, and the Iowa Department of Transportation had responded to the scene of the accident. Fire and rescue crews had to extricate at least one victim from the mini van. The Le Mars Ambulance transported at least one victim to the hospital. No names are known at this time. The Iowa Highway Patrol is
conducting the investigation of the accident.
