(Hinton) — Reports of hail the size of golf balls to tennis ball size was reported at southern Plymouth County Saturday evening. Several vehicles are reported to be damaged as were siding from buildings. The storm passed through Hinton at about 8:00 p.m. and lasted for nearly 10 minutes. Windows located on the north side of many buildings, including the Hinton High School, were broken due to the hail storm. Window air conditioner units at the high school also sustained severe damage. Hinton Police Officer Brent Ford was caught in the middle of the storm. He says the Hinton Police vehicle may have sustained enough hail damage to be listed as totaled. Surprisingly, none of the the windows in the police vehicle were broken.
