Holz Believes New Governor Will Do Well For Iowa

(Le Mars) — Iowa has a new governor. During a swearing in ceremony held yesterday at the state capitol building at the rotunda, 57-year old Kim Reynolds became the 43rd governor for Iowa, and is the first female executive for the state.

Reynolds says she is anxious to go to work for all Iowans.

State Representative Chuck Holz of Le Mars says he expects Reynolds to do a good job.

Holz, a republican, believes the state already has a good connection with Reynolds since she has been active with former Governor Terry Branstad with policies and appearances.

Governor Reynolds met with Plymouth County Cattle producers on the Craig Anderson farm back in March of 2016, and State Representative Holz says she should work well with those involved in agriculture.

Still, Holz says Reynolds will have her share of challenges…one being the issue involving Medicare.
