Dump Truck Causes Power Outage In Downtown Le Mars

(Le Mars) — An area of downtown Le Mars was without power over the lunch hour on Saturday, after a dump truck had snagged utility lines, and pulled an utility pole until it was leaning.  The incident happened on 2nd Street SW at about 11:45 a.m.  in front of the Fry-Daze fast food restaurant.  MidAmerican Energy, Premier Communications and Frontier Communications responded to the scene to re-attach power, phone and cable lines.  The Le Mars Police Department and the Le Mars Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene and blocked off traffic until such time the utility companies were able to resolve the problem.
