(Rock Rapids) — The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Friday afternoon on Highway 75 in Lyon county, involving a car hitting a semi truck. According to the traffic report, the accident happened at about 1:44 p.m. The car, a Buick LeSabre, was driven by 18 year old Caleb Semple of Le Mars. Semple was traveling southbound on Highway 75 with the Kenworth semi truck heading northbound. Apparently, the Semple car had crossed over the center line and hit the semi truck head on. Semple was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County Medical Examiner. The semi truck was being driven by 33 year old Alyce Widrig of Sioux Falls.
