ARLINGTON, Texas – The outsider is in. Baker Mayfield is the NFL’s No. 1, draft pick despite being considered an outsider for the top spot, at least until the last few days. Mayfield, the first Heisman Trophy winner taken No. 1 overall in the following draft since Cam Newton went to Carolina in 2010, will join the Cleveland Browns.

ARLINGTON, Texas – L-S-U running back Derrius Guice, Iowa All-American cornerback Josh Jackson and Texas offensive lineman Connor Williams were left in the green room when the first round of the draft ended. Guice, Jackson and Williams are safe bets to be selected during day two. The top quarterback left on the board after five were taken in the first round is Mason Rudolph of Oklahoma State. Other notable players still available are linebacker Harold Landry of Boston College, linebacker Arden Key of L-S-U and running backs Ronald Jones of U-S-C and Nick Chubb of Georgia.

(G) Lakes Conference meet in Spirit Lake. — TEAM STANDINGS:   Le Mars edged Spirit Lake 17-16 to take the team title.  Elizabeth Ihrke and and Abby Van Otterloo went 5-and-0 for the day and claimed championships at #1 Singles and #2 Singles respectively to earn All-Lakes Conference honors.  In doubles, Maddy Mahan and Madison Dreckman went 3-and-2 on the day while Joan & Caroline Meis tied for 1st at #2 Doubles with a 4-and-1 record.
