(Le Mars) — Several hundred people attended the Le Mars Police Department’s “National Night Out” event held Tuesday evening at the Le Mars Police Department headquarters. A free meal consisting of burgers, hot dogs, chips, ice cream treats, and beverages were given away. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with Le Mars Police officers, as well as, examine some of the equipment used by the Le Mars Police Department. A crime scene was set up inside the police department’s garage area, offering attendees the opportunity to see how police officers would gather information, and process the evidence.
Thank you to everyone who helped us in our K9 fundraiser campaign. We are happy to report that we raised approximately $4,000 that will go towards the purchase, training, and upkeep of a new K9 Partner on our department.
