(Le Mars) — The Wells Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor is open again, after the first phase of renovation is now completed. The ice cream parlor opened Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. Ice cream parlor manager Brett Susemihl talks about what people can see, and what is still being renovated.
Susemihl says some renovation and construction will continue while the ice cream parlor is open, but it is scheduled to close again in the spring to complete the multi-million dollar project. Then, the ice cream parlor will re-open in June in time for the annual Ice Cream Days Celebration and the Le Mars Sesquicentennial. Susemihl explains the work that still needs to be completed.
The ice cream parlor manager says for those people wanting to buy a sweet treat during this week they will be able to get a discount on their ice cream purchase.
Visitors to the partially renovated ice cream parlor will notice several conceptions and photos on the walls as to what the popular tourist attraction will look like once the construction project is completed.
The business hours for the Wells Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.
