(Le Mars) –– More information is now known regarding the auto accident that happened Friday afternoon near the intersection of Lynx Avenue and 220th Street, two miles south of Le Mars. Two people were injured during the accident. 17 year old Nelson Flores of rural Le Mars was heading southbound on Lynx Avenue in a 2005 Jeep Liberty. Flores lost control and entered the
east ditch, striking a utility pole. 16 year old Javier Flores was a
passenger riding in the front seat. Both of the Flores brothers were transported to Floyd Valley Healthcare by the Le Mars Ambulance. Nelson Flores was treated at Floyd Valley. However, Javier, was initially treated at Floyd Valley and subsequently transferred to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Nelson’s injuries were thought to be minor. Javier’s injuries were serious, but not life threatening. The auto accident remains under
investigation by the Iowa State Patrol with the assistance of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office. Also responding to the scene was the Le Mars Fire and Rescue Department.
