AARP To Host Presidential Forums Across The State

(Des Moines) — A-A-R-P and The Des Moines Register are sponsoring forums in five Iowa cities featuring 19 Democratic presidential candidates next week.
A-A-R-P state director Brad Anderson says each candidate will have 25-minutes on stage.

The candidates will answer questions from the audiences of A-A-R-P members as well as from moderators Kathie Obradovich (oh-BRAD-oh-vich) of The Des Moines Register and Radio Iowa’s O. Kay Henderson.

According to Anderson, research indicates one out of every five people who attend the 2020 Caucuses will be an A-A-R-P member.

The first forum is scheduled Monday in Des Moines. Tuesday’s forum is in Davenport. Wednesday’s is in Cedar Rapids. The forums resume Friday with an event in Sioux City, then the final forum is Saturday in Council Bluffs. Go to www.radioiowa.com to find out which candidates are appearing in which
cities and how you may listen to their conversations.
