(Le Mars) — Energy utility crews and firefighters were called to the intersection of 21st Street and Industrial Road Southwest after a Wells Enterprises shag truck turned the corner too short snapping off a utility pole. Power to the region was not lost due to the accident, but several power lines were hanging low. The semi trailer behind the shag truck went up on the curb catching
the tension utility pole and shearing it in half. When firefighters arrived on the scene the pole was resting on the top of the semi trailer. The trailer was empty at the time of the accident which happened at about 2:10 p.m. Thursday afternoon. There were no injuries associated with the accident. MidAmerican Energy crews have arrived on the scene to replace the tension pole, hopefully without losing power to the industrial park region. Firefighters and utility crews are still at the scene.
