Le Mars Annual Christmas Lighted Parade & Pioneer Village Winter Wonderland

(Le Mars) — Thousands of people turned out Saturday evening and lined Central Avenue to view the annual Le Mars Christmas Lighted Parade.  The parade had a few gaps by the time it reached the downtown area, but everyone seemed to enjoy the traditional favorite floats, as well as some new entries by businesses.  Near the end of the parade, the parade stopped for a few minutes in front of the Pizza Ranch restaurant in order for a marriage proposal to take place.  The future groom appeared out of a large gift-wrapped box and asked the question of his girl friend.  We can only assume the intended bride said “yes.”  Following the annual parade, many of the people then made their way to the Plymouth County Fairgrounds to enjoy the Pioneer Village Winter Wonderland, including viewing more than 80 decorated Christmas trees inside Century Hall.
