(Le Mars) — Members of the Troop 184 were collecting both food items and cash donations Saturday morning at the Hy Vee supermarket. The donations will be given to the local food pantry, Christian Needs Center of Le Mars. Troop members Jacob Hickey, (front) and Andrew Schilling (back) were filling the canoe with food and other items.
The scouts collected about 90 items and $444 in contributions from 9 to 11 at the Le Mars Hy-Vee. They had 22 scouts and parents show up! Since there was such a great turn out of Scouts and Parents that a group of scouts and parents spent an hour helping clean up the fair grounds by sweeping out four buildings and picking up sticks and trash on the fair grounds. The same group then went to the camp grounds and did the same thing for an hour. A huge thank you for all those that donated Saturday.
