CEDAR FALLS — Blaine Harpenau accounted for five touchdowns and 222 total yards to earn M-V-P honors, leading No. 2 Remsen St. Mary’s to an impressive 48-0 victory over No. 10 Fremont-Mills to win the eight-man State championship for the second time in the school’s history.  Harpenau ran for the first two scores of the game on one-yard runs to stake the Hawks to a 14-0 lead after a quarter.  Harpenau connected with Ryan Willman and Damon Brownmiller on TD-passes in the second quarter to put St. Mary’s in front 27-0 at halftime.  Levi Waldschmitt’s two yard touchdown run and another Harpenau-to-Brownmiller TD pass extended the lead to 41-0 heading into the fourth quarter where Brendan Fisch capped the scoring with a 25-yard run.  Harpenau finished with 85 yards rushing and connected on 8-of-9 passes for 137 yards.  Brownmiller had five catches for 95 yards.  The defense redeemed themselves with a shutout after giving up 94 points last week in the semifinals.  The Hawks held Nebraska recruit, Seth Malcolm, to 57 yards on 18 carries and limited the Knights to just 119 yards of offense.  Remsen St. Mary’s, which last won a title 16 years ago in 2004, finished the season at 12-0.
