(Le Mars) -- Authorities have surrounded a rural residence in Plymouth County where a federal fugitive was believed to be hiding.

Little information has been released at this time, but Plymouth County Sheriff Mike Van Otterloo confirms a Special Response Team is on the scene at a building on county highway K-18 somewhere between Stone Park and Akron.

A source says that a suspect fled the farm residence when federal Marshalls arrived to serve a warrant.  The suspect being sought may be armed.  We'll share more information as it becomes available.
