Wayne Evans, 63, of Granville, Iowa passed away Wednesday April 10, 2013 at Orange City Area Health System in Orange City, Iowa following a courageous battle with cancer.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville, Iowa.  Father Terry Roder will celebrate Mass.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Granville with military honors.  Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the family present from 5-7 p.m.  There will be a Parish Rosary Service at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday prior to Mass.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.   Condolences may be extended to the family through www.mauerjohnsonfh.com.

George Hitzemann, 82, of Akron, Iowa passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Akron.  Reverend Jean Morse will officiate.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron.  Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 with the family present after 5:00 p.m., and a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at the Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.

Robert Joseph “Bob” Flaherty, 85, of Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria.  A Graveside Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Military Honors will be conducted by Wasmer Post #241 of the American Legion. Celesta  “Sis”  Masuen, 94, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with Reverend Paul Eisle officiating.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars with a 7:00 p.m. Scriptural Wake Service.  Visitation will continue Tuesday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.  ©
