Edward W. Marienau, 83, of Merrill, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, Iowa.  Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars, Iowa.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill with military honors provided by Olson – Halweg American Legion Post #125 of Merrill.  Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home.  The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. to greet friends with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m.  There will also be one hour of visitation on Friday prior to the funeral.  Stories, memories and expressions of sympathy may be directed through www.mauerjohnsonfh.com

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Price, 75, of Le Mars, passed away Monday December 13, 2010 at Good Samaritan Village of Le Mars, following a Lengthy illness.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday December 17, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Le Mars, with Reverend Kevin Richter celebrating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, where there will be a Parish rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.

Dorthy Evelyn Ohlrichs Dirks, 86, of Hawarden, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center.  Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden, with Rev. Russel D. Daniel, 78, of Le Mars, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with Reverend Merrill Muller of the Merrill United Methodist Church officiating. Private Inurnment will be at the Stanton Township Cemetery. Visitations with the family present will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time Sunday afternoon.
