Dorothy Meis, 88, of Arvada, CO and formerly of LeMars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Exempla Lutheran Hospital in Arvada, Colorado.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends, followed by the rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a 7:00 p.m. Scriptural Wake Service. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with Father Matt Hewitt officiating. Elmer Heien, 88, of Le Mars passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his home in Le Mars, Iowa.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars, Iowa. Reverend Greg Gabriel will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2010, with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Thomas W. Driscoll, 92, of Le Mars passed away peacefully, with his family at his side and went to be with our Heavenly Father Wednesday September 15, 2010 at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday September 20, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with Reverend Matt Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery-Neptune, rural Hinton. Visitations will begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday September 19, 2010 at the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, where there will be a Parish rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be on Monday morning at St. James Church for one hour prior to the Mass. Marguerite Petry, 95, of Le Mars passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Brentwood Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Le Mars United Methodist Church with Reverend Jason Larson officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m. at the Le Mars United Methodist Church followed by a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service Tuesday evening at the church. Visitations will continue Wednesday afternoon at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time.  Arrangements are with Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars.
