Donald “Don” Brundeen, 82, of Akron, Iowa passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Akron, Iowa. Reverend Dawn Quame will officiate. Burial with military rites conducted by the Hoschler American Legion Post 186 of Akron, Iowa will be in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. The Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Lucille Carey, 93, of Marcus, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus, Iowa.   Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Marcus.  Burial will follow at Marcus – Amherst Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home in Marcus. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Monday. Patricia Ann Staab, 72 years old, of Remsen, IA died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, IA.  Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Le Mars.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. There will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument LLC in Remsen.
