Wyona Zachow, 86, of Aberdeen, South Dakota, formerly of Richland, South Dakota passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at Red Rose Care Home in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
A Prayer service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Carlsen Funeral Home - Schroeder Chapel in Akron, Iowa. Inurnment of her ashes will be in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Daniel Boettcher, 65, of Chatsworth, Iowa passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Hawarden Community Hospital in Hawarden, Iowa.  Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Riverside Cemetery in Akron, Iowa.  Chaplin Ron Pietz from Hospice of Siouxland will officiate.  Visitation with the family present will be after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron, Iowa.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com. 

Melvin C. Treptow, 91,of Pierson, Iowa passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Correctionville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Pierson United Methodist Church.  Rev. Bill Cotton will officiate.  Military rites will be conducted at the church by the Harrison F. Pederson American Legion Post #291 of Pierson.   Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Johnson – Earnest Funeral Home of Kingsley.  The family will be present to greet friends from 3-7 p.m.  There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Thursday.   Following the funeral service, Melvin's body will be donated for research to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in accordance with his wishes. Alfreda Christina (Lorenz) Spooner, 84, of Pierson passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley, Iowa with burial at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.  Rosary will be held at the church at 4 p.m. followed by a Scripture Wake service at 7 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2010.  Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at the church.  Arrangements were made under the direction of Rohde Funeral Home.
