Megan Dirks, 25, of Akron, Iowa, formerly of Iowa City, Iowa passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at her parent’s home in Akron following a courageous battle with cancer.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, with the family present after 5:00 p.m., and a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Parish Rosary, all at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Aneta Ledgerwood, 96, of Le Mars passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at her home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, Le Mars, Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitations will be after 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends after 6:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Stella C. Gundel, 91, of Sioux City formerly of Merrill, passed away at her home on Monday, June 28, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux City.
