I-29 Fatal accident update

A northwest Iowa teenager was killed Monday night when authorities say she drove her car in the wrong direction on Interstate 29.

 

The crash happened around 10:30 Monday night just south of Salix in Woodbury County. The Iowa State Patrol reports a car, heading south in the northbound lanes, collided head-on with a pickup. The driver of the car, 17-year-old Mary Katherine Hughes of Salix, died in the crash. The driver of the pickup, 23-year-old Ryan Marx of Sioux City, was treated at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City and released. (News report from Radio Iowa)
