Friends of Gehlen Ball

(LE MARS) — Fundraising for education exceeded all expectations for the Friends of Gehlen Ball. 

Kathy Nilles is a Ball co-chair who thanks the entire community for supporting Gehlen Catholic School.

Bruce Brock of Brock Auction Company in Le Mars helped make teaching with technology an enhancement to classrooms. Nilles explains the auction to Fund-a-Cause garnered gifts from 10-thousand dollars to one-dollar for Smart Boards. Smart Boards bring computers into teaching in an interactive chalk-board size display.

More than 50-thousand dollars was raised for Smart Boards–nearly double the goal.

The Spirit of Peter Gehlen award for the use of time, talent and treasures was presented to Band Director Paul Niebuhr and Development Director Lisa Niebuhr.
