(Le Mars) — Two people were injured from a one-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday evening. The accident happened shortly after 10:00 p.m. near the intersection of County road C-16 and Hickory Avenue. Apparently, the car being driven by 58 year old Lesa DeBoer of Akron lost control when it had encountered excessive mud on the road, from farm equipment traveling from the field to the roadway. The car slid off the roadway into the ditch, then ended up striking two trees on a farmstead. The other victim was 17 year old Taylor DeBoer of Le Mars. The Le Mars Ambulance transported the victims to Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. The victims were transferred by Mercy Air Care helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Le Mars. Responding to the scene was the Le Mars Fire and Rescue Department, Le Mars Ambulance and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office. The accident remains under investigation.
