(Le Mars) — “Over the River and Through the Woods” will take the stage at the Postal Playhouse beginning Friday, November 7th, and tickets are on sale this week. It’s the final show of the Le Mars Community Theaters 2014, and it’s a story that is fun for all ages.
To grandmothers house we go! This show is about family-specifically an Italian-American family living in New Jersey. Two sets of grandparents do their best to convince their career-minded grandson to continue living near them, instead of moving across the country for a promotion. Their scheming includes introducing grandson Nick to a girl, and sharing stories of their past to highlight the importance of family.
The grandparents are being played by some familiar faces at the Le Mars Community Theater: Audrey Scholten, Dan Delperdang, Hilma Person and John Battern. Grandson Nick will be played by Shawn Starr and the lovely lady the grandparents are trying to set him up with is played by Onnastasia Behan. The show is under the direction of Richard Buman and Angela Riedeman.
The show is a lighthearted comedy, but it deals with people leaving in many different ways, so along with laughter, expect a few tears.
Tickets are on sale for members Monday (October 27th) and go on sale for the general public Wednesday the 28th. For reservations contact the Postal Playhouse 546-5788 Monday-Friday from 11a-2p.
