(Le Mars) — Saturday’s game for the state championship was both fullfilling and disappointing for the Le Mars Community Bulldogs and their fans. Thousands of people from Le Mars traveled to Des Moines at the Wells Fargo Arena to cheer on the Bulldog team. However, as you have no doubt have heard, Le Mars came up a little short for their quest for the state championship, taking home instead the Runner Up trophy. The Le Mars boys basketball team returned home Sunday to a homecoming ceremony held at the new gymnasium. Activities director Larry Johnson opening comments perhaps summarized the thoughts of many from Le Mars.
