American Legion Wasmer Post #241 Participates in “Wreaths Across America”

(Le Mars) — Members of the Le Mars American Legion Wasmer Post #241 braved the frigid cold temperatures and strong winds to place seven evergreen wreaths at
the Le Mars Veterans Park. It was all part of the “Wreaths Across America”
ceremonies. The American Legion held an abbreviated ceremony due to the cold
elements. However, the seven wreaths are in honor of those veterans that
served, and those military personnel currently serving, and not able to get home
for the holidays. This is the fourth year Le Mars American Legion has
participated in the “Wreaths Across America” program. Throughout the nation,
veterans groups and volunteers are placing the wreaths at grave sites and
memorials and monuments. All the wreaths originated from Maine. The wreaths
located at the Le Mars Veterans Park will remain until December 31st, allowing
people the opportunity to view them through the holiday season.
