(Merrill) — Law enforcement officials were at a rural Plymouth County residence about nine miles west of Merrill near Echo Road during the lunch hour. Complete details about the incident are not yet known, but at approximately 11:45 a.m. officials were called to the scene. The strategic CERT team comprising of Le Mars Police, Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee Police and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office were initially called to the scene. Apparently, at least one individual has been shot. We don’t know the severity of the condition of the victim. One individual was seen carrying what has been described as a long-gun. One person has been detained. KLEM radio hopes to have additional information when it becomes available.
