Construction On Cleveland Park Castle Playground Equipment Continues

(Le Mars) — Construction on the new playground equipment at Cleveland Park has been proceeding, and should be completed within the next couple of weeks.  The new playground has many of the features that were a part of the old “Castle playground”.  The playground has an ice cream theme, much like the old park’s playground, as well as a replica of the Tonsfeldt’s historical round barn.  City Administrator, Jason Vacura says the new park also features playground equipment for children of all abilities to enjoy.  The design and construction of the new playground equipment has a price tag of $600,000, which was paid for through donated funds for the Community Betterment Foundation.  Leathers and Associates of Ithaca, New York, created the old “Castle” playground, and they designed and are constructing the new playground set.
