(Le Mars) — The Wasmer Post #241 American Legion of Le Mars participated in the national program of “Wreaths Across America” Saturday morning at the Plymouth County Veterans Park. The Le Mars location was one of more 2500 across the nation. The Legion members placed wreaths in honor of each military branch, plus the Merchant Marines and the Prisoners of War and those veterans still Missing In Action. Past Post Commander Wayne Schipper was the emcee of the program.
Legion members participating in the “Wreaths Across America” program included: Nick Hanson – Army, Jack Frus – Air Force, Rick Even – Marine Corps, Tom Tanhoff – Merchant Marines, Earl Draayer – Navy, Dick Kirchoff – Coast Guard, Jim Rolfes – POW/MIA, Color Guard – Dan Plueger, Kim Wiltman, and Jim Kestner. Wayne Schipper as the program emcee.
