Le Mars baseball improved its record to 3-1 with a sweep on the road of Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln. The Bulldog offense produced a steady flow of runs in game 1 in route to a 13-1 victory to run-rule the Lynx in five innings. The Bulldogs put up two runs in the first, four runs in the second, two runs in the fourth, and five runs in the fifth to win the first game. Mason Parrott, Carter Arens, Ethan Kuiken, and Brady Williams each recorded 2 RBIs in the game 1 win. Every player in the starting nine reached base in some form while all but two recorded hits. Braiden Hurd picked up the win for Le Mars on the mound going five innings, giving up two hits and one run, and striking out five while walking four.
Le Mars picked up right where the left off to start game 2. They put up seven runs in the first two innings towards an 8-2 win in six innings. The game was called after six due to rain and darkness in Council Bluffs. The Bulldogs got three RBIs on three sacrifice flies from Carter Arens in game 2. Ethan Kuiken drove in two runs including one on a double in the first inning.
Braiden Hurd went 3-4 with three runs scored and a run driven in. Brady Williams picked up the win on the mound going six innings, giving up two runs and five hits, and striking out three and walking five. The Bulldogs improve to 3-1 on the year and will open up their home schedule on Tuesday when Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson comes to town for a doubleheader.
