(Le Mars) — A lot of interest has been placed on moving away from combustible engines powered by petroleum fuels such as gasoline and diesel fuel, and instead going to what is perceived as a more environmentally friendly vehicle powered by electricity.  U-S Republican Congressman Randy Feenstra says there are several drawbacks to electrical powered vehicles that are not being discussed.

Feenstra says the Biden Administration is pushing more for a “Green Energy” bill that is tied with the proposed infrastructure bill.  Feenstra says President Biden’s proposals are costly.

Feenstra commented further on the proposed spending bills.

(Le Mars) — The Iowa State Fair is scheduled to begin one week from today, Thursday, August 12th.  According to Dave Hoffman of Le Mars, who is a member of the Iowa State Fair Board and a past president, visitors to this year’s fair will notice several renovation projects beginning with the 4-H Exhibit Building.

Hoffman tells how the 4-H Exhibit Building will appear to visitors and exhibitors.

In addition to the improved 4-H Exhibit Hall, Hoffman says the state fair board has a new track for tractor pulls, located on the northwest corner of the state fairgrounds.

The Iowa State Fair Director says the state fair has also ventured into the cookie business and has established a new building that will be selling chocolate chip cookies.
