Plymouth County Farm Bureau Offers Grant for Round Barn Ag Ed Project

(Le Mars) — On Wednesday, during the Chamber coffee event held at the Plymouth County Farm Bureau offices,  Ben Johnson, the president of the Plymouth County Farm Bureau, presented a check in the amount of $2,000 to representatives of the Le Mars Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee.  The CAP- Community Advancement Program) Funds grant can be used for community development and awareness, or in this case, for promotion of agriculture and agriculture education.

For the past eight years, the Le Mars Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee have hosted the “A ROUND the farm in the BARN” agricultural education exhibit, inside the famous Tonsfedlt Round Barn located at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds.    Micah Lang is the Vice President of the Le Mars Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee, and accepted the grant on behalf of the Chamber Agriculture Committee.

“Speaking on behalf of the Chamber Agriculture Committee,  we appreciate the financial support of the Plymouth County Farm Bureau organization for the round barn agricultural education exhibit.  This is the second year in a row the Plymouth County Farm Bureau and Iowa Farm Bureau Federation have been our title sponsor for the “A ROUND the farm in the BARN”, said Lang.  “It is nice that Farm Bureau shares our vision and recognizes the importance to showcase agriculture,” Lang said.

During the Plymouth County Fair, July 27th -July 31st ,  the focus for the round barn agriculture education exhibit will be to highlight “Women In Agriculture”.
