Le Mars girls tennis opened their regional team bracket play on Saturday with a big 5-2 win over Bishop Heelan. The Bulldogs had struggled to beat the Crusaders earlier on in the season, so it was nice for Head Coach Tifany Wright to see her team get a convincing win to open the postseason.

Coach Wright chalks up that convincing win to a total team effort. The Bulldogs went 4-2 in their singles matches and won the first court doubles match to advance to the next round.

In the next round, the Bulldogs matched up with a Spirit Lake/Okoboji team that has won all but one dual on the season and won every tournament except for one. The matchup was daunting, and the Bulldogs lost 5-0 to end their season. While it is always tough to lose, Coach Wright was happy with how close her team competed with a very good team.
The end of the season is always challenging especially when it comes to graduating seniors. Coach Wright knows it will be tough to replace them but is happy to see what they do in the rest of their lives.
The Bulldogs wrap up the season with a dual record of 4-4 and 2-2 in the MRAC. Spirit Lake/Okoboji now takes on Spencer in the regional final to see who makes it to the state quarterfinals.
