Hillview Dredging

The Pond Improvement Project continues at Hillview Recreation Area just west of Hinton. Plymouth County County Engineer Tom Rohe says dredging is underway……..

Rohe says no recreational activities, including fishing and swimming, are allowed in or near the pond while this project is under way. He says that the dredging should improve the water quality.

The project is expected to continue for two to three weeks.

 

Summer Reading Rocks!

Le Mars Library Director Shirley Taylor says over 500 young people signed up for this year’s Summer Reading Program. She told KLEM News that the signs you see planted in yards through-out the community designate reaching the summer reading goal.

Taylor says there are also teen and adult reading summer programs.

 

Jeneary on Mental Health

State Representative Tom Jeneary says mental health is an area that consumes more and more of the state budget. Speaking in an interview with KLEM news the Le Mars Republican says a loan forgiveness program could help entice mental health practitioners to stay in our state.

Jeneary says besides more mental health professionals, we need more regional facilities.
