The Great Akron Scarecrow Festival is ready to unfold, tomorrow (Saturday) at the city park.
Colleen Westergard Baker – with the Akron Friendship and Service Club – is one of organizers of the event.
The Festival has grown into a great one day event.
The activities Saturday are centered around scarecrow decorating.
Visitors to the Festival can vote for a people’s choice award
There are some unusually some creative entries in the scarecrow
The Festival ends with a scarecrow auction
The auctioned scarecrows are then put on display through the fall.
From 10 am to 3 pm, the events include the scarecrow decorating contest, homemade food and baked goods, kids game and activities, a petting zoo, and dozens of craft vendors.
