Le Mars Couple Visits London

MEADES VISIT LONDON

Joel and Marilyn Meade of Le Mars arrived in London two days before Queen Elizabeth passed away.
They say by the end of their visit, they were caught up in the preparations for the Queen’s funeral.

Joel got a sense of how people felt about Charles becoming king.

Marilyn said Buckingham Palace became the focal point after the Queen passed.

Marilyn said shopkeepers had their own way of remembering the queen.

While in Ireland, Marilyn found that, while respectful of the Queen, life went on as normal.

The Meades left London before activity ramped up for the state funeral of the Queen.

The Meades said they traveled to England and Ireland in September, because they anticipated fewer people traveling at that time. Instead, they got a glimpse of how the countries responded.to the passing of the Queen.
