Hinton Girls Track Repeats As War Eagle Conference Champs

It was déjà vu all over again at the War Eagle Conference track meet on Monday night. The Hinton Blackhawk girls took home their second conference title in a row by a narrow two-point margin on a cold night.

The win impressed Head Coach Robin Mohr who has been in the track world for a long time.

The Blackhawks have proven to be a very deep team with every event having someone who can score a lot of points for the team. Coach Mohr says that makes things easy when trying to figure out which events to put competitors in and when to move them around.

That deepness shows especially in the relays. Those relays also highlight how tight-knit this team is in how they run for the good of the team and not the good of the individual. Coach Mohr says that allows for some relays to shine when they are not expected to.

Hinton’s ultimate goal is to send as many events to the state track meet as possible. Coach Mohr says they need to take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself the rest of the season.

Hinton is next in action on Thursday at a meet hosted by West Sioux.
