Collins Racer Exhibit

COLLINS RACER EXHIBIT

An exhibit featuring the champion race car of Le Mars resident Emery Collins was unveiled today at the Plymouth County Historical Museum.  Collins won multiple national dirt track championships  with the car from the late 1930s to the late 1940s.

At the exhibit was Priscilla (Collins) Strathman, a cousin of Emery Collins.

The mural was created by Le Mars artist Harry Gray.

The display included a case filled with trophies won by Emery Collins.  Strathman says one of Emery’s championship trophies is on display at the Reagan Library in California.
