LE MARS TO DISCONTINUE MAIN STREET IOWA PROGRAM
The Le Mars Main Street program, which has partnered with the Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce since 1995, will be discontinued effective October 31st. Chamber board member Rich Ziettlow explains that the decision is the result of an 18 month transition in concert with the development of the city’s new comprehensive long-range plan and an expanded focus.
The transfer of economic development functions to the City’s new Community Development Director’s office allows the Chamber to work on a broader focus
Ziettlow told KLEM some of the Main Street grants previously taken advantage of can be replaced by other state grants.
The Le Mars Chamber news release offers appreciation for the past support from the Main Street Iowa team and it recognizes the excellent work done by the Main Street managers and volunteers through the years.
