The Bulldog boys wrestling teams split their duals with #6 Sergeant Bluff-Luton, losing 64-12, and beating Sioux City North 45-35.
The Bulldogs went up against a Warrior team that routinely makes it to the state dual tournament in Class 2A. Head coach Shane Hessenius says his team just was not quite ready for the power that the Warriors brought their way.
Le Mars got a good response against North in being able to bounce back for their second MRAC dual win of the season. Coach Hessenius says his team was challenged in between duals, and they answered the call.
The Bulldogs have relied on Camden Feuerhelm, Keegan Kayser, and Michael Murra to bring them their success throughout the season. That did not happen very much as all three of them wrestled just one match and went a combined 2-1 in the matches they competed in. Coach Hessenius says it was great to see other kids down the lineup have success in helping the Bulldogs to a win.
The Bulldogs now make their annual trek east to the Linn-Mar Invitational in Cedar Rapids to face off with some of the best this state has to offer. Coach Hessenius says he wants to see a strong team showing regardless of scoreboard results.
The Bulldogs wrestle at that invitational on Saturday. Le Mars hosts their home invitational coming up on Saturday, January 13.
