FACILITY BOND REFERENDUM INFORMATIONAL MEETING
One person has died and another was injured in a two vehicle accident Friday night near Salix. The Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office says shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, a two-vehicle crash was reported in the 2800 block of Old Highway 75, located south of Salix. According to the preliminary investigation, 32-year-old David Narciso was traveling north on Highway 75 when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck head-on a vehicle going south on the highway. The juvenile in the southbound vehicle was able to get out of his vehicle and was sent to a local hospital with minor injuries. The sheriff’s office says Narciso was trapped in his vehicle, which then caught fire. Narciso received severe injuries and was taken to a Sioux City hospital where he later died. The crash is still under investigation but the sheriff’s office says alcohol may have been a factor. The Woodbury County Sherriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and Salix EMS.
