The Le Mars boys struggled late and fell on the road at Council Bluffs AL on Tuesday night by the score of 63-55.
Le Mars was in the game through the first half trailing at the break by just one point. The Bulldogs had a lead for a good chunk of the first half thanks to some strong defensive play. Head coach Cody Dyhrkopp says his guys were forcing the issue on that end of the floor.
The second half turned sour for Le Mars who fell behind thanks to an 8-0 Lynx run to start the second half. The Bulldogs trailed by as much as 16 points with about four minutes to go in the game and trimmed it to as little as six points with a minute and a half to go. Coach Dyhrkopp says the end result was not what he wanted, but the fight from his guys was great to see.
The Bulldogs drop to 0-4 on the season with the loss and look to right the ship one more time before the holidays with Sioux City North coming to town. Coach Dyhrkopp says the improvement is there in pieces, and it is now time to put all together in one game.
The Bulldogs and Stars face off with each other Friday night in Le Mars. KLEM will broadcast the doubleheader live with coverage prior to the girls game beginning at 5:15 PM.
