The Hinton girls wrestling team won the title at the 2025 Le Mars girls wrestling invite on Friday scoring 220 points as a team.
The Blackhawks have had a wonderful second season of girls wrestling with this marking their fourth tournament championship of the season. Head coach Joel Bertrand says even with all the success the girls have things to improve on.
Three different Blackhawks won their individual bracket including their two seniors in Kendra Berglund at 120 and Ava Lang at 125. Head coach Joel Bertrand says they have been such good leaders.
The Blackhawks have just one more tournament before state qualifiers the following week. Coach Bertrand says improvement is still a possibility, and it is good to get the little things wrong now.
Hinton, along with Sergeant Bluff-Luton, will host a tournament this coming Saturday. The Blackhawks have their state qualifying meet on Friday, January 31 at Lewis Central High School.
